Students work in partnerships and race to the 100th box. They can also work independently to complete the activity. To play, they roll the dice, add the numbers, and then write the answer in the next available box on the 100s chart.

Domino Addition and Subtraction
Students use dominoes to create addition and subtraction problems. They record their number sentence, solve the problem, and record the answer.

Students self-select numbers to add or subtract, write the number sentence, solve using a calculator, and then record their work.

Students try to find as many addends for sums 2-12. They roll two dice, add to find the sum, and record their work on the recording sheet.

Students practice +/- facts with a friend!

Students solve addition/subtraction facts, then flip over to self-correct.

Students self-select numbers for a fact family and then write related addition and subtraction facts for that family.

Students phone addition and subtraction facts to their friends using cell phones. Their friend solves and records the number sentence and answer on their recording sheet.
